  • Manager, Digital – Public Affairs

    Monument Advocacy is seeking candidates for a Manager, Digital position based in our firm’s downtown DC office. Monument is a fast growing, nationally recognized consulting firm, focused on strategic communications, public affairs and government relations. We maintain groundbreaking practices and represent industry leaders in a broad range of sectors.

    This position will support the growing Monument team in a variety of assignments and with a focus on our expanding Public Affairs practice. 

    Responsibilities

    • Helping to drive communications and public affairs campaigns through design, video, and social content creation;
    • Designing one pagers, decks, graphics, reports etc. in Canva and Adobe Illustrator;
    • Developing social media platform strategy and content, and content calendar production;
    • Video production capabilities;
    • Website design and maintenance; using WIX and/or Squarespace; 
    • Preparing teams for weekly status and strategy meetings;
    • Serving as a liaison between firm and clients, tracking and ensuring digital deliverables for multiple clients; and
    • Helping organize client events, including staffing and attending.

    Qualifications

    • 1-3 years of experience in social media management, digital communications or marketing, content strategy, public affairs/advocacy, or a related field (agency, campaign, the Hill, association, non-profit, or corporate experience welcomed)
    • Proven experience managing social media accounts for brands, organizations, policymakers, or advocacy campaigns 
    • Strong understanding of social media and digital strategy, content development, community engagement, and platform optimization 
    • Experience using social media platforms, analytics tools, and content scheduling tools. 
    • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex policy or public affairs issues into compelling digital or graphic design content. 
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Ability to take a project and run, independently, while collaborating effectively across teams and clients. 
    • Design and video content creation experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Wix or WordPress, and Adobe Suite
    • Proficiency in AI products (OpenAI, Anthropic)
    • Bachelor’s degree (or associate’s degree plus relevant experience)

    Nice to Haves 

    • Experience creating graphics, data visualizations, web content, or other digital assets that support advocacy and communications campaigns.
    • Experience supporting public affairs, advocacy, issue-based, or political communications campaigns.
    • Agency or client-facing experience, including managing stakeholder and third-party relationships.
    • Experience navigating complex policy, regulatory, or public affairs issues.
    • A creative, spaghetti at the wall, collaborative mindset with a passion for testing new ideas and building passion projects from the ground up. 

    Compensation & Benefits

    This role offers a base salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 with the opportunity for additional performance-based and new-business bonuses. The specific salary offered will depend on various factors, but not limited to, such as: education, experience, skills, qualifications, and seniority. Compensation at Monument extends beyond base pay and is designed to be holistic and competitive.

    Interns will have significant opportunities to witness the public policy and legislative process first-hand and to gain real government relations, public affairs, and strategic communications experience.

    Duties will include but are not limited to:

    • Conducting legislative, political, and policy research;
    • Tracking bills, regulatory developments, and current events related to client interests;
    • Covering congressional hearings, briefings, and off-the-Hill policy events;

  • Marketing & Business Development Fellow – Fall 2026

    Monument Advocacy is looking for a Marketing and Business Development intern who will work at the intersection of business and public policy.

    Monument Advocacy works with a wide range of clients, such as Fortune 100 corporations, trade associations, and startup companies to help them engage effectively in today’s public policy environment. 

    OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: 

    Our internship program offers interns exposure to the inner-workings of how a top-tier D.C. government relations and public affairs firm operates. Interns engage in professional development through networking coffees and meetings with leaders and associates across all levels. 

     Current and recent undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply for this position. 

    DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

    • Keeping track of political and policy developments to inform internal scopes of work
    • Developing social media campaigns and creating content for X and LinkedIn
    • Maintaining data integrity, using Customer Relationships Management (CRM) and AI tools
    • Conducting market and policy research 
    • Analyzing trends and data to forecast revenue potential and make recommendations to our team

    • Experience or willingness to learn HubSpot and CRM maintenance.  
    • Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design platforms.  
    • Experience with social media management.
