Mike is the Vice President of Government Relations on the Agriculture and Food Team. He brings government relations experience from the private and nonprofit sectors with deep expertise in hunger issues, child nutrition, farm bill, appropriations, spirits, and related tax policy. He helps his clients navigate these issues and others through the complex DC policy stakeholder landscape.
Prior to joining Monument Advocacy, Mike worked at Diageo, a multinational spirits and beer company, where he tackled spirits-related tax, trade, health, and retail market access legislative and regulatory issues. His career in government relations began at Feeding America, a national anti-hunger organization, where he led several successful legislative campaigns, resulting in the passage of additional nutrition funding in pandemic relief and child nutrition programs legislation. His experience also includes work on political issue-based and congressional campaigns.
Mike previously served on the boards of the Francis Marion University Young Alumni Council (Board Member) and the Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (Board Member), and he currently serves as the Board Chair for the St. Martin de Porres Catholic School Foundation. He is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Francis Marion University.
